High-quality wooden curling stick
The wooden curling stick is the most important piece of equipment for Bavarian curling, an old tradition and classic winter sport from the Alpine region. Bavarian curling is somewhat reminiscent of curling, but the sport differs from the English version and in the equipment used to "shoot" the stick on the ice.
Our family-run woodturning workshop in picturesque St. Roman has been producing high-quality, small-scale curling sticks since the 1960s. Today, we are among the largest and most successful curling stick manufacturers in Europe, joining the ranks of other producers like Ebra Eisstock. Wooden curling sticks from Wimmer - High quality in various designs
Our wooden curling sticks are crafted using traditional techniques combined with modern manufacturing processes. This expertise dates back to the founder of our family business and was further refined and made suitable for a wider market when his son took over.
Now, every wooden curling stick enjoys great popularity. Each curling stick is crafted from pear wood sourced directly from the surrounding area and further processed in our workshop. The wood is cut to the correct size and then vacuum-dried in a wood drying chamber. This gives the wood the necessary structure and strength to perform consistently on the ice. This process guarantees the longevity of the material used for the wooden curling stick. The flat steel ring is bent into a conical shape and, together with the handles, which are manufactured using CNC technology, is added to the wooden curling stick. The result is a handcrafted wooden curling stick that proves its worth on the ice.
Our product range offers the perfect wooden curling stick in various colors, designs, and for specific purposes. You'll find not only our own sticks but also high-quality accessories from other companies, such as those for Ebra curling sticks.
